John Szarkowski is described as a forward thinker, a person who was adamant about the democracy of the image. The late Szarkowski was the curator at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). In an article by the Guardian he is paid homage wen Sean o”Hagan writes, “Everyone who cares about photography is in his debt.”
