Ron Galella is the name most frequently associated with the beginnings of paparazzo photography. Recently he sat down for a Q&A with the New York Times where he opened up about his thoughts regarding the craft of being a member of the paparazzi. Interestingly, Galella decribes himself as an “artist” whose mission is to capture the lives of famous individuals sometimes after stalking them for days. A documentary film, “Smash His Camera” is currently playing on HBO.
